Terracotta, a provider of enterprise infrastructure software, has announced the integration of Sun's new VisualVM technology, which is included as part of Java Platform Standard Edition 6 Update 7, with the analysis capabilities in the Terracotta management console.
The integration will provide Java software developers and operators breakthrough visualization capabilities that can help dramatically reduce the cost of tuning and troubleshooting Java software.
The company said VisualVM is a new graphical, intuitive tool for troubleshooting Java software. Available as part of Java Platform Standard Edition 6 Update 7, VisualVM allows users to easily obtain detailed information about multiple Java software applications while they are running.
Ari Zilka, CTO and co-founder of Terracotta, said: "VisualVM and Terracotta are a natural fit. VisualVM provides in-depth analysis of the virtual machine and Terracotta provides key information on cross-cluster issues. Terracotta is making a considerable investment in tools that will ease the transition from single servers or small clusters, to larger clusters. Leveraging the Sun VisualVM technology will allow us to achieve this objective more rapidly and it's an exciting development for our community."
